First, some news. Kathy has progressed in our request for a meeting with Dave Loebsack to the point where she has been asked to fill out a form. Good work, Kathy!
And Polly took a very complicated laser talk about foreign aid requests (the global laser talk from the calls a week ago Saturday) and called Tom Harkin's and Chuck Grassley's offices. Thanks, Polly, for your dogged determination.
Next Tuesday the WHO issues its report on drug-resistant TB. There is a big media push on this, including a conference call Thursday night, an editorial personnel conference call on Tuesday and an editorial packet to be made available. I will be working with Jeff Tecklenburg to see if we can't get an editorial in the Gazette about XDR-TB.
